Pathways tO ParTicipation - A Paediatric Rehabilitation Education Day
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service Occupational Therapy team invites you to a professional development day at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Introduction to VPRS
Overview of Cerebral Palsy – causes and motor patterns
Evidence based assessment and interventions (Cerebral Palsy)
Upper limb management – VPRS assessment, goal setting, use of Botulinum Toxin, overview of casting/splinting
OT role in complex medical interventions (ITB, DBS, SDR, UL surgery)
OT interventions – introduction to bimanual training, modified constraint and goal-directed training including case studies
Introduction to Chronic Fatigue program
OT role in inpatient rehabilitation including case studies
VPRS group programs
The day is suitable for Occupational Therapists, especially early career OTs, or other professionals working with children and adolescents with physical disabilities.
Registration includes access to electronic copies of presentations, morning tea and lunch.
